A 12 foot yurt is still small and easy to manage, but it gives noticeably more space than a 10 foot yurt. It is a good size when you want a compact yurt that can be used comfortably for guests, retreat use, garden rooms, small studios or simple seasonal living.
A 12 foot yurt can be made as a canvas-only yurt or as an insulated yurt, depending on how you plan to use it. The size is fixed, but the specification can be chosen around your needs.
It has enough room for a bed, small stove, table and storage, while remaining straightforward to transport and pitch. For many people, the 12 foot yurt is the smallest size that begins to feel like a proper little room.
Like our larger yurts, it is made with a natural chestnut frame, a handcrafted solid oak crown and carefully fitted covers. It is compact, but it is still a proper Yurt Workshop yurt.

What Is a 12 Foot Yurt Good For?
A 12 foot yurt is a good choice when you want a small but genuinely usable space. It can work well as a spare room, garden room, guest space, therapy room, massage room, meditation room, small sauna, children’s den, studio or simple seasonal accommodation.
For use through more of the year, it can also be made as an insulated yurt, with natural wool felt insulation, an inner liner and our double-canvas roof system.
It is also a practical size for anyone who wants a yurt that can still be moved, pitched and cared for without becoming too large or complicated.
Small, but More Flexible
The 12 foot yurt has around 11 square metres of floor space. That extra room makes a real difference, giving more flexibility for furniture, storage, a small stove or a more comfortable sleeping arrangement.
It can sleep up to four people in simple use, or work as a comfortable space for one or two people with room to move.

12 Foot Yurt Dimensions
The 12 foot yurt is approximately 365 cm in diameter, with around 11 square metres of floor space. It can seat approximately ten people and sleep up to four people in simple use.
The total height is approximately 244 cm, with a wall height of around 130 cm.
