We are continually revising our designs and offerings to make sure they are the best in the market. From 2021 and unique to the Yurt Workshop our insulated and glass-wall yurts dont just come with one canvas roof cover but includes an additional canvas roof cover to make sure our yurts work in the harshest of climates. 
We are specialists when it comes to yurt making and in particular in the knowledge, skill, expertise and art of insulating yurts. Felt insulation transforms a tent into a home. It gives a feeling of strength, warmth and security. Once a person has used a felt insulated yurt they will not want to go back to a thin canvas cover.
Insulation is very important in the summer and winter. If you want to be warm and cosy in winter you will appreciate felt insulation. If you want to be cool in the blazing heat of summer you will also appreciate felt insulation.
Our felt is 100% sheep’s wool treated and certified to be fire resistant with natural salts. The thickness and weight is the minimum we believe necessary for Europe. It is specially chosen so not to wick the moisture back into the yurt. It is clean and has no smell unlike the yurts from Mongolia.
On the interior of the felt is a bright liner that can be washed. This is invaluable to keep your yurt looking clean and bright year after year. It is made of a certified fire retarded material which is especially important if you having a stove in the yurt.
When you order an insulated yurt we do not simply add some felt to one of our standard yurts. As you might expect from the Yurt Workshop, the yurt is specially crafted to work as an insulated yurt with some subtle but important differences. The covers are cut and sewn in a pattern unique to our workshop for fast pitching and perfect fitting. They are adjustable so you can take off the insulation and the covers still fit.
 We have been supplying felt insulated yurts for over 10 years, and have developed a range of yurt windows to work with them. The windows allow the light in, which is very important in an insulated yurt where the natural light is prevented by the insulation.
We also offer the glass wall insulated yurt. This yurt combines the traditional design with our quick fit glass wall panels to create the most amazing light-filled, yet insulated space.
