Living OFF GRID in our Yurt!

Aug 29, 2022
I want share this wonderful video of the very talented Bruce, family and friends pitching their incredible yurt in the west of Ireland. Bruce contacted me in September 2021 saying he was interested in one of our glass fronted yurts and he was planning to move into it with his young family while completing renovations on their house and once we have finished that we will be using it for retreats.

Here is a little more in his own words:
After years of saying one day, we finally realised that these opportunities don’t just land in your lap and if we seriously wanted to make a difference to the Earth then we were going to have to stop talking about it and do it! We sold all our stuff, got rid of the mortgage, sold our camper conversion business and landed in a dream come true. After travelling in our van we settled here in the west of Ireland. A place that has always been special to us. Annie is half Irish and since we met 13 years ago and she took me to meet her family i fell in love with Ireland too. Now we’ve made this dream a reality there is no stopping us! our plan is to work hard, meet new people and learn new skills that will guide us on our journey of permaculture and creating a way of life that sings to us. One where we aren’t bound to the banks, working every hour and outsourcing all of our needs. A simple way of life, with connection to ourselves, each other, the earth and our community.

Colour Me Beautiful

As you can see from the photo (right), I love colours and the richness they can create in our lives.

For some time we have offered sand canvas, and it has proved extremely popular.  It blends with most gardens, it is less stark and intrusive than white, and over the years I have come to appreciate and prefer it.

Richard Everiss, Yorkshire Planetarium:

The Ger itself is simply a thing of understated beauty...the care and attention which has been lavished on it during its construction is evident. Rather like finding a smooth pebble on a beach, so Robert and his wife Ratna have handcrafted a building that is wonderful to touch and feels naturally balanced.
