Naturist Yurt Camp
Authentic Design Specialised for the European Climate
Location: El Portus naturist campsite, in Cartagena, Murcia, Spain
Nick runs the Naturist Yurt Camp in Murcia and has two wonderful yurts, set on the secluded the beach front, in the amazing El Portus campsite.
The well positioned plot is a large and contains the two beautiful yurts. The large yurt is 18 feet (5.5m) across, the smaller 11 feet (3.4m). The yurts are both constructed to the highest possible standards with a wooden frame covered with four layers of insulation, 2 of cotton, felt and heavy canvas. The doors and windows are oak.
Both are extremely beautiful and peaceful inside.
Both yurts have a "crown" which in the summer months can be left open 24 hours a day. The insulaton of the yurts keeps the heat in in the winter, and out in the summer. Both yurts have pine wooden floors and double glazed windows which if required can be full opened. If you are not familiar with the majority of yurts, they are little more than tents with a wooden frame, usually with just a groundsheet.
These yurts we like to think are more like a soft house. These yurts can easily accomodate all year-round living. We should know, we've lived in them all year. The plot has a gazebo and outdoor dining table seating 6 with outdoor lighting as well as an outdoor fully fitted kitchen tent with gas hobs, electric oven, and a fridge. Drinking water is connected. The large yurt will sleep four, the smaller will sleep two.
The plot is about 50 metres from the beach.
The Situation
El Portus is in a beautiful natural amphitheatre sandwiched between mountains on each side, the sea, and the blue sky.
It is the perfect place to enjoy water sports including canoeing, sailing, windsurfing, snorkeling, rock climbing, trekking and mountain walking and of course, sunbathing. There is a watersports centre on the site for diving and canoeing. Situated in a beautiful bay six miles (10km) from the historic city of Cartagena, it is one million square meters by the sea, surrounded by nature, with the best climate in Europe. The region has 300 days of sunshine per year. It is far from noise and pollution. Come with your family to visit and you will spend unforgettable days ...
There are two swimming pools, summer and winter as well as a summer beach bar and winter bar. (The winter bar is closed during the summer, both pools are open in the summer).
There is an on-site spa, tennis court, boules pitch and a shop as well as a children's play area.
The campsite has six strategically located modern toilet blocks, with free hot water. Three of them are wheelchair accessible.
