Permaculture Courses
Ecological education for a sustainable future

The conscious idea of permaculture and the word itself, were formulated in the early 1970’s by Australians Bill Mollison And Holmgren. They put their ideas in a book entitled Permaculture One – a perennial agriculture for human settlements.
The opening paragraph of the book states that…
‘Permaculture is a word we have coined for an integrated, evolving system of perennial or self-perpetuating plant and animal species useful to man. It is, in essence, a complete agriculture ecosystem. It would suit any climate region and is designed to fit in urban situations. We believe that low energy, high yielding agriculture is a possible aim for the whole world and, that it needs only human energy and intellect to achieve this’.
The above explanation seems to be more important now than ever. More people are asking how they can lower their carbon foot-prints on the atmosphere and participate in a positive solution to climate change. Studying and applying permaculture in our daily lives will go a long way towards this.
